One tree yard here too. I did this back in April and its still working great. I sleep out there 4-5 nights a week. Mine was post #6 in this thread.

within a "hanging distance" from the tree.
A less permanent solution than a set post would be a bipod (2x4s, fence posts etc) for the second anchor, guyed out to some form of ground anchors. My solution can be found by searching for "soil anchors" on the suspension forum.
Another thought: the bipod could be guyed horizontally to the nearest tree/house/telephone pole or whatever is available. A length of Amsteel would work well for this.

I do not recommend using 4x4 post. Both of mine broke (one while the wife and I were hanging from it, no one hurt).
This post was 4 feet in the ground and concreteted in. It was a pain to dig out.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
follow these steps to correct the tree issue:
1 select tree type
2 plant seeds with the correct spacing for the type hammock you have
3 wait 10 years
4 schedule backyard hang......
Works for me...

Selection of timbers used is important in any building project. I feel a quality 4x4 will support a person in the hammock.
As seen in your pic, theres a big knot where the break occured. Inspect your lumber, choose wisely. Make sure its straight, clean of knots and cracks prior to purchasing.
A 6x6 will ease your concerns and provide years of service, but still pick and choose from the pile...especially at the big box stores. Some of the lumber I've seen there is junk!
Better to buy from a small lumberyard, pay an extra few bucks and get some quality lumber. Inspect before buying!
If you plan on using the hammockstand with two people, build it to support two people. Brace the top with a crosspiece and diagonal bracing.
Ambulo tua ambulo.
