Thanks for the compliments everyone, especially to Barefoot for the kind welcome! Like I said, I'm new to the whole hanging thing but hope to contribute productively to these forums. In the meantime, if anyone cares to see more pics of the canoe and its building process, here's the link to that post on my site.

Definitely need larger photo's, so I can figure out where that was...
Nothing like paddling and hammock camping. Floating sure beats walking in my books.

Ah...wait, I just saw your blog...I know where that is. Those headwater lakes are my favorite spot!

Sounds like a great trip. Reminds me of canoeing in ontario in the 60's. My sister had a chestnut. Love that you made your own canoe and the paddles are pieces of art, very satisfying i'm sure. Nothing like making something that you then use in your life.

    Hey Murat,

Looked like a great trip, nice sunny weather and the water all to yourself...PERFECT!!

I love your website, your canoe is beautiful...those paddles are amazing as well!!!

I sure would like to see a close up pic of your yoke...it looks like you've put carvings into it, that is so cool!
