    1.7 DL vs. 1.7 SL

Hello to all the WBBB lovers/experts out there. Anybody feel like weighing in on the merits of the 1.7 DL versus the 1.7 SL and vice versa? I'm 6'1" and run roughly 205 lbs. Not worried about having to use a sleeping pad at the moment, but would welcome any insight y'all might have. Understand the SL runs 11 oz. or so lighter, so that is a consideration. Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I went with the 1.7 double as there are a lot of skeeters in my area and the double is suppose to make it hard for them to bite thru.

Good thought, gunner76. How's that working out for you? Croatan Nat'l Forest/Neusiok Trail can be downright infested.

So far so good. To be on the safe side I treated all my hammocks with Sawyer's Permethrin. The skeeters have just come out in force the last couple of weeks.

Before I treated the hammocks I have seen the skeeters on the outside of the bug net in the AM when I have hung out on the Neusiok Trail but did not get any bites.

I figured the double also gives the option of placing a mat inbetween the fabric layers.

I am not a gram wennie so the weight difference between the single and double layer did not seem that great to me.

    I am 6ft2 and weight 275lbs

My wife has a a 1.0 double BB and if you want, let me know if you want to try one. I have set a 2 telephone poles in the back yard with my one good hanging tree so I can set up 3 hammocks at one time. In fact if anyone in the area wants to test hang any of my hammocks, let me know.
