Yet another "bump" and reminder to all that this event is coming in less than two weeks!

I'd go but I already got an invite from Mr. Green on Facebook for a SHT outing over those same dates which I tentatively plan to attend. Sounds like a nice event though. Post a report on how it goes.
Post event report...
The 12th Annual Winter Camping Symposium was this weekend. There were a few HF members present, but I was the only one actually hanging (that I could see).
Weather was in the 50s and rainy Saturday afternoon and evening with lows in the 40s...not very winter-like!!
Many, many interesting workshops and SCADS of "hot tents" (canvas tents ranging from 9'x9' up to 12'x16', with a few yurts (aka gers) thrown in for good measure. Winter overnights with a big tent and a wood stove almost make up for being on the ground, eh? I note that the SMALLEST of these canvas tents weighed around 22 lbs packed. As you might suspect, the hot tent crowd use toboggans or big pulks to haul their gear...and they tend to travel using the frozen lakes in the northwoods.
Nice folks in attendance (I'm guessing a bit over 100 came), and I had a chance to handle all of FourDog's stoves...both the tent kind and the bushcookers. They're impressive stoves...and Don (FourDog himself) is a super-knowledgeable and pleasant guy to talk with.

Beep , thanks for coming and there where more hammock user then you think.
There is already talk of hammock camping 101 talk. Maybe you can be part of that ? All together there was 140 attendes.
Bridget did a great job bringing it all together and it is the go to place to learn
the skills needed for winter travel and camping in the deep cool with a warm tent or cold camping.
Lonnie Dupre gave a great talk about draging 300lbs sleds to the North pople.
There where talks on fire craft, knife craft and how to injoy one self in the Northern forset in the deep cold.
Hope to see more folks from hammockforms next year.

Fourdog,
I'd be willing to be part of a hammocking show-and-tell. Of course, that means I'll have to actually get out in "real" winter weather to have some been-there-done-that credibility.
Maybe we can organize a deep winter hang for the (fool)hardy souls who want to try it!

Sorry I missed it, that sounds like fun.
Looking to get out some time in this week.
Here's a link to a blog entry from one of the attendees at the Winter Camping Symposium. This is more or less a trip report.
