I use a thermarest Z pad, 3/4 length with no problem. It stays where I put it and keeps me warm.

Try it in the WBBB. The Eno doesn't have a double layer so the conditions and result of the experiment is not proof that it won't work in the WBBB.

I have a Thermarest ultralight, used it in Dustin1006's Henessy, the pad and i made an x in the hammock all night long. Got my WBBB and it didn't move at all even though i toss from side to back all night.

I have one of those fleece bag liners from Wally World and a Mtn. Hardware 20 degree Pinolte bag, thought about putting me in the bag on the pad inside the fleece bag liner if it gets cold out.

I tried a cheap Wally World jumbo sized automobile sun shield with light foam on one side and mylar on the other. I was surprised that it worked okay. I put the foam side up.

I'm getting ready to upgrade my hammock soon, and would like to go with a pad myself as it provides the option to go to ground if necessary. Has anyone tried the Gossamer Gear ThinLight pad? It is a wide pad (41" x 61" x 1/4") that would make it easier to not slip/roll off in the middle of the night.

How flat do you lay in your hammock? The flatter the lay the easier it is to get away with a wide pad. If your laying banana shape a wide pad is gonna try to bunch up something fierce.

In spite of my previous statement regarding using a pad, I had a fantastic night in the hammock last night!

Got the pad inflated just right and got the hammock set up perfectly... The pad stayed in place all night and I didn't get any cold spots. Could've laid there forever.

(But I'm still looking forward to my quilts from StormCrow )

If I got it right You were using Thermarest Neoair pad? I have been thinking to test My Exped Synmat 9 pump DLX. It is quite big 77,5" x 26" x 3,5". If it could be combined with Winter yeti that would be superb option for bottom insulation and would make it possible to camp even at coldest temperatures.

What do You think about it, should I test?

i've found cutting some darts into my pad has made it easier to avoid a speed bump in my back when changing positions.

yes OP i use a pad in my hammock. i've found it's tolerable down to freezing, and below freezing i don't give a crap about comfort, i just want to be warm, which i am...

I use this folded and sewn in half with the wool blanket on top of the hammock if its really cold. together they are pretty darn warm and will do for car camping till I make my Under Quilt.
