PGF is a good spot indeed!
keep in mind that the wooded hills rising to the south are all part of Michaux State Forest. being PA state forest land, you are allowed to backcountry, primitive camp without a permit for one night. a second night would mean moving to another part of the woods.
plenty of great hiking/biking trails around that area in addition to the AT.

Is tenting going to be allowed in the group camp site where the hammocks are going to be. My wife does not want to commit so she may come may not. May want to sleep close to me may not. Just wanted to know if their is that option or if tents are only allowed inside the designated campgrounds.

appreciate'cha Rev, might be something I could make it to.
there are quite a few day hike trails with some great views. there is a trail on the county line known as the falls by locals it is a small gorge/ water fall fed by tumbling run very nice..... not far to walk to or there is parking there as well.
