to be honest...this might not be a good idea...
the sew lines can weaken the fabric of the hammock...
i made a DIY hammock with a pad pocket...and the fabric at the sew lines are pulling apart over time..only 15 nights in it if i remember
maybe make something that will hook to the side pullouts and the ends ?
like the SS does but for a reg pad

i would just sew up a SPE would be very easy to make ...and you can use it in any hammock you like
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

    I like the SPE idea.

I've had good results sewing onto the hammock body by using zig-zag stitches, minimizing backstitching as much as possible and locating it on a low-stress area, and being careful about laying on the stitching. It worked well for my DownHammock.

If you want to be extra careful, you can sew it around the perimeter so you're not putting any stress on the seams in the hammock body. Consider how you'll use the bottom-entry if you do it that way.

Jeff, I no longer use the bottom entry 2Q put zippers in. I was thinking of using no-see-om as the sleve material and use the outside edge, or maby come in about 6 in. I like the idea of using zigzag stich.

1.1 oz ripstop is stronger, and may be lighter depending on the netting you use. And it'll block more air (keep you warmer) and won't pick up leaves and dirt as easily.

i think you should be ok if you are going to sew it up that high...when i made mine it's more to the center ...
i agree with JJ i would use 1.1 ...the added wind block will be nice in the winter time

but i would still look into making a SPE...but thats just me
