Yup. Whoopies with small diameter lines are the hammock adaptation of the heavy duty stuff that riggers and arbortists have been using for some time now.

As an Arborist I use whoopies, as a hammocker I use whoopies.
Hurracane Earl just came to my city and boy was I BUSY! Now that we have things cleaned up I can go on a hammock hang that has been planned for tommorrow night.
Today I used my DIY 3/4" whoopie slings to rig tons of tree sections over my head. Tommorrow I will be useing my DIY 1.8mm whoopie slings to rig myself a few feet off the ground.
As far as purchasing my rigging tools for work, it just has to work and with a huge safe work load limit. If I have a failure at work I probably won't be around to sue any one! Or I will be in the market to replace an expensive truck, chipper or paying to replace some ones house. I just hope I don't need to replace co-worker!
If I have a failure with my hammock whoopie I may have a bruised ego or other bruises.
