This is a variation of the ring buckle suspension you'll find on the forums. Most here used webbing with the ring buckles, and the rings are at the hammock end rather than at the tree giving you a point that protects against rain water running down the line.
There are plenty of things I would do different from the video, but that's not to say it's no good. It's just my opinion that there are several ways that are much better. Good find.

Grizz has it in one of his videos somewhere.
Grizz mentioned problems with the sheathing due to being compressed between the rings.
