Newber from Oregon

Just wanted to drop an intro for my first post. Been camping in hammocks back in Texas since I was a kid. It was always plenty warm and I always hung in a 10 dollar hammock from wally world. Moving to Oregon, I knew that wasn't gonna cut it. I found the HH website and did my homework and bought the explorer deluxe with the SS. I've been sawin' logs in the woods quite a bit this last Summer. I'm going to go ahead and give it a whirl when the cooler weather and the wet gets here. Maybe I'll find a group hang to join.
So a little about me. 37 yrs old married, father of four. Engineer/machinist. Obviously like the outdoors. Moved up here 3 years back from the Texas Hill Country. Nice to meet y'all!

woohoo for where you live! I spent a week working my way from Redwood NP to Fort Klatsop....I just shudder thinking of the size of tree hugger you have to carry!!!

Welcome Silverlion, I also moved to Oregon from Texas a couple years ago.
I'm in the Portland area; if I can be of any help to you feel free to PM me.

Seems like more and more northwesterners are finding the forums. (I like to think the time I've spent showing off my gear to the curious plays a part, but who knows.) We'll have to organize a hangout some time, I lost track of the Hell's Canyon trip, as I couldn't make it. Did it happen? I'll have to go back and check that thread.

Any time you want to get together/ organize a hang out, just PM me. I haven't made much of an effort to make any buddies up here. Just pretty much kept to myself and worked. I need to get out more.
