I'm drawn to the open country. Its where the world makes the most sense. When I put myself out there I always return with something new.
Same here. A buddy and I are heading to Frozen Head State Park for a couple nights to tromp through the woods and test some of my new gear I made. I am using this as a testing ground for the Gorge trip in October.
I'm headed to Land Between the Lakes in Western Kentucky for a much needed rendezvous with Mother Nature.

The family is car camping in Tahquamenon Falls State park. Will be trying out some of my diy stuff. We are looking at some pretty nice weather. Highs in the mid/upper 60s and lows in the low 50s. Really looking forward to getting up there.
Doing a redeux of the Iron Mountain Trail with Doc starting Sunday. Taking our time and making it a 3 day hike this time instead of trying to push it through to do a 2 day hike. The weather is looking good with almost 0% chance of rain, highs in the high 70's, lows in the mid 50's. Anyone want to join us? Think we've got room for one more in the shuttle.

Working PT job all weekend, but as it is 55 miles one way from me, will be sleeping in my usual bed in a nearby State forest. Does that count?
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
