    Hello from Colorado

    Hello,

I just bought my first hammock this summer. It is a HH Ultralight Backpacker. So far I love it. Before I bought the hammock, I had bought a Big Agnes Lost Ranger sleeping bag and pad. The sleeping bag has no insulation in the bottom, instead it has a sleeve for the pad. The pad itself has primaloft insulation in it. I was concerned after getting the hammock that the BA sleeping bag/pad would not work with the hammock. On the contrary, it works great! I am a very happy hanger!

Welcome to HF! We have several members from Colorado, and Warbonnet is based here...maybe you can come to the next hang and put faces to usernames.

Yes, a hearty welcome! Always good to have more high altitude hangers.

We need to get an autumn hang organized. Maybe a short hike when the Aspens are turning.

How do you plan for that? The entire leaf-changing season last a day and a half out here. If you see yellow in the hills, you better get out the next day or you'll miss it!

Not like the South or East, where the leaves change for a whole month.

But I'd be game, whether there are leaves or not.

Greetings and a hearty welcome from the other side of the hill Tim. Quite a few well known hangers on the front range, but not too many over this way. I know there is one in Grand Junction but I can't remember his name. It would be fun to have a hang and get to know everyone and learn a few things. I'm pretty novice at the hanging thing myself, but having a wonderful time learning. You have found the "mecca" of hammock knowledge!
