are you sure that is the typhoon and not the monsoon. from the hennessy site it looks to me that the typhoon only has two guyline tieouts and the monsoon has three. if that is true i like the typhoon tarp in sil nylon. i was thinking to get a maccat and have doord sewn on but now that is see these tarps for 109 ans 119 with doors included i may have to get one.

I called Hennessy and asked them this question because I thought the same thing. They told me they both have 3 tieouts per side. But it looks like in fair weather you could just use the center one and shock cord the others back.
If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.

cool thanks for clearing that up. I am concidering getting onr of them but the monsoon seams to be cheaper. I wonder what the main differanses is.

The other option i was thinking of was a maccat deluxe and have the 2qzq mod done to sewn on the doors. but the monsoon comes with doors and they are removable.

I'm confused. Careful examination of the website shows that the detail pages of the 30D typhoon, the 70D typhoon, and the 30D Monsoon use the same photograph. An attempt has been made to make one look different by reversing the image. That is such a cheap trick. WHoever did this site must take us for idiots and that upsets me. I have been iinvolved with web page design and layout since 1994 and all I can say is that this is a really poor show. I will be emailing Hennessy for an explaination. No wonder noone knows what they are supposed to look like.

The biggest difference I could discern is that the typhoon is 5" wider but the same length. Also, the typhoon is brown and monsoon is green. It think that is about it.

They told me that Hennessy developed their own website when I ordered my monsoon. Said the owner had made a hobby of web design or wanted to try it. I thought their new website was pretty decent...although still under developement at that time. Picutures on their website were hard to figure out though. Don't know if it is a cheap trick or not, maybe just web design beginners mistakes.

I think they look the same because the only difference seems to be the width of the tarp. Kind of like the difference between the MacCat Standard and the Deluxe. Instead its the Monsoon and the Typhoon.

They definitely had some weights that were off when they rolled out the new website but had them corrected within a day or two.
