As long as good information gets out there I don't keep track who says it first. Of course as in most things hammocky these measurements are very individual. You got's to dink around with them till you get it dialed in according to _your_ preferences.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I was very excited to see all the replies tonight. The last two nights had left me very frustrated. I am excited to try some of the suggestions which seem to be very consistent. Thank you very much.

Like allot of the others said, That there be a bunch of sag.

I find my "Sweet spot" is affected by mere inches of ridgeline length, so once you get to a pretty comfortable hang, try lengthening or shortening th ridgeline. For some, little differences don't matter, but for me, I just made my ridgeline 4" shorter & went from an ok hang to a GREAT hang! (the "OK" is lower case on purpose).

After 5 years nearly nightly hanging, I know what I want in a hang, & yet with a new (Longer / wider) hammock it still took about 10 nights trial & error to get it just right. So Hang in there

I agree with Rev....your RL is too short..i would even try 103 inch since you said it's 10 feet long ...and then bring it donw an inch or 2 till you find the right length
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold

This is good to know, as I'm having similar issues as the OP, but along with head krink, I'm also getting knee pain (being a side sleeper). I've only given it a try three times now, and each time I could only spend a few hours in the hammock before I was too sore to go on.

Looks like we need to keep adjusting, Highlander.

Ok so I adjusted my ridgeline to about 100" and now I am wondering what to do with the whoopies on the suspension since they seem fairly loose now. My original plan was to set the tree huggers at about 6' off the ground (now with the feet slightly higher) and try for the 30 degrees. I know the ridgeline needs to be fairly taught, but I'm not sure what adjustments need to be made once I have increased my ridgeline. Seems that the angle is greater than 30 degrees now if that makes since.

Also reference the make shift UQ. I am going to sew channels on the side, how long and what diameter of cordage is recommended?

    Thanks again!
