    Slap Strap Woes

Let me just say this, I wish I would have found this forum before before I ordered my suspension system. I ended up with an ENO doublenest and went with the slap strap pro suspension. I did my first hang in it last night and learned what seems to be common knowledge around here, slap straps stretch like crazy. I'm 6'2" 200lbs and I set the hammock so I was hanging ~1.5' off the ground. Well needless to say by the morning I was on the ground, well slept but still on the ground.
After looking around for a while It looks like I'll be going with the whoopie slings. Should I just go with the "all in one" system and If so what size? Is more length generally better?

You aren't the only one who followed that learning curve. There are several good suspension systems discussed on this forum. My take on length is too long is better than too short.

What I thought was stretching, turned out to be slipping. Surprising because a small amount of slip is compounded by a significant amount of slack in the hang. The ENO straps work great once you figure out you have to wrap the tree twice. Your life gets even better when you add an amsteel structural ridgeline.

I wish slipping was the problem here but I just checked and there was literally zero slippage.

I just did a suspension mod to my ENO doublenest using my slap strap pro:

    Check it out.

The length of suspension you need depends on the size of trees you will be encountering. Anywhere from 10 to 15 feet per end would probably cover your needs.
