I made my own bag out of Tyvek. Superlight, durable, and cheap. An added benefit, I can put the trowel in it.
I like big hammocks - I cannot like.

I clip all the stake loops (MSR Groundhogs) through a mini-biner. I clip the biner onto some of the lines on my pack (ULA), then slip the loose ends of the stakes into the side pocket. Stakes are always attached to my pack unless I'm set-up. Less of a chance for loss.

It slips easily just about anywhere in my pack (or dry bags) and I don't worry about the stakes puncturing anything. I've been using the same one for about 2 years.

Pic is of a large one, but the ones from 4L or 8L bags work great.

    +1. That way I don't lose them.

Usually make stakes from sticks when setting up camp.

Now playing with 23 cm stainless steel chopsticks from the Asian shop, weigh 9 gram each, cost € 2 or € 3 for 10! So far plenty strong, no pointy sharp thingies and used them for a DIY wood burner successfully too.....

Some webbing doubled on itself to make a hollow tube is heavy but strong. I like the idea of re-using the Sea to Summit packing! Thanks.

Depends on how heavy the knife is you take to make them I would think.
