Question about your marlin spike set up

It looks like the whoopie loop is wrapped around the webbing, probably crossed and then brought back over the toggle instead of just loop over the toggle. If I am correct how do you adjust the whoopie? doesn't it bind up at the toggle? Just curious.

    P.S.- Nice place, nice pics.

Great report edbeteze, love the pics too.

Was there in August 2008 from Jack's Creek TH north to Lost Lake and across to Truchas Lakes. However that was when I was still sleeping on the ground.

Would love to go back this year and hang in the trees. There is such a strong fresh sweet air in the Pecos Wilderness like no other with those Douglas firs, Colorado spruce and Aspens.

Great area doesn't looking like NM at all when you get down into that water. I was there for my first time earlier this year at the holy ghost/ Pecos area stream fishing. Fantastic location.

Pecos Wilderness is rapidly becoming one of my favorite spots to pack in. Another area, more to the west, is the San Pedro Wilderness. Maybe I'll try that one next.

SloBro: You pegged it right--I looped the Amsteel over the toggle twice. On my first hang I wasn't taking any chances...;-) The Amsteel is just a continuous loop through the hammock channel. Still a super newbie, I haven't tried to make a whoopie sling yet. I adjusted the hammock height by eye and let it go at that. It was dark when I got it setup and if I had more time I would have picked 2 trees a bit farther apart. These 2 were about 13' apart and the 13' tarp was tree to tree. Anyway, it seemed to work out--we had no rain and I was happy I didn't dump out on the ground!
