Smile what is the proper hang on a HH?

Hi, I've been using a Hennesey hammock for a year and been cinching the
suspension fairly tight. On most hammock set setups I viewed on this site the ridgeline makes a 30 degree angle up to the support. Does this hold true for the HH. Does lowering the suspension in the HH allow more sag for a flatter
lie? The reason I've been keeping my suspension so tight is the tree huggers
I've been using were slipping during the night and tightening solved that issue. I working on rethinking my suspension and one thing would be new straps I can wrap twice around the tree. Also thinking of going with a woopie sling or garda ring setup. Thanks

It doesn't really give you a flatter lay, though you may notice a little bit of difference. It does put less force on the trees, and means the hammock will sag less when you get in. So if you hang the hammock right under the tarp, it'll still be close to that position when you get in.

    Lower hang works for me

I've got a HH Exped with a zipper mod. I started off stringing it pretty tight but now I add more sag and it seems to be more comfortable and less stressful on the hammock. I'm currently using the Omega Pacific Rapel Rings to a ultralight 23 gm carabiner and it seems to be a much easier, more adjustable setup. Just be sure to tie a half hitch or two to prevent slipping and be careful not to pull the stock HH suspension line under weight. I pull up on the line and slide it through the rings. It's easier and I've yet to notice any wear on the line.

I'm tempted to change to whoopie slings to lighten the pack weight and increase adjustibility. I've got them on my Eno Doublenest and love them.

Most of the time I pull my HH exped tight, especially if I don't double wrap the straps around the tree. If I double wrap the straps I don't need to pull it very tight.
