To amplify my first response, the short leg (thumb) of the implicit right triangle (for my hand, at least) is about half the length of the (imaginary) hypotenuse. That means the angle opposite the thumb would be about 30 degrees. sin(30) = 0.5 and all that.
What I'll try is to form the 'pistol' and touch thumb & finger tips to the suspension line. If the finger ends up about horizontal, I'm good. I've just been eyeballing things, so it will be interesting to see how this works out.

Interesting, but not terribly useful...better to learn what works for you, and what it looks like. That may, or may not, be 30* off of horizontal.
