Went camping again last night.
In years past camping season (tent camping) for me and my son was ended when school started. By then my back was too tired to face another night sleeping in the outdoors.
Last night the weather prediction was for temps in the mid-50's, so I took our CCF pads along so we could survive the night figuring this may be the last trip of the season due to cool nights this time of year. (I don't have an UQ yet)
I gave my son the 1/2" CCF pad and my 0° mummy bag and I was set to endure a cold night on my thin (1/8 or 3/16", can't remember which) CCF pad and 30° bag.
I was up during the night to relieve my bladder and was surprised I hadn't got cold at that point. Went back to sleep and woke up again to find it was daylight already. Almost 9:00AM and I was warm (almost to the point of sweating), well rested, and no back ache.
My son even had his hammock down, and all his gear stuffed and stored in his pack!
All I had to do was get up, make coffee and oatmeal, and lounge while we enjoyed breakfast. (another oddity about camping, I never eat breakfast at home, but I'm hungry in the morning when we're camping )
Looks like camping season isn't over, after all!!!!!!!!!!
