Will covering suspension rope with tubular webbing prevent tree damage?

part of what 1" or wider webbing does is distribute the force over the whole width of the webbing. A 4mm line inside of tubular webbing is exterting the same force in the same focused area 4mm wide as it would without, i.e. it doesn't help with what is I think the most important protective role of the webbing.
