pre-annual Lake Greenwood, SC Goat Island hang

Ok, This is what I have been thinking...

I will be camping on Goat Island October 14 - 17 on Goat Island, Lake Greenwood, Greenwood, SC with my two children (Kryptonite and APPD - addy paddy poopy doo) and dog. The island has already been reserved. I would like to extend the invitation to anyone who would like to attend. I will be taking both of my children on this trip to give my wife a little down time.

Because my kids are coming with, I request that this be a KID friendly event.
also, because this is an island, transportation will be multi-modal. Drive to parking area, boat to island. I only have human-powered aquatic transportation so I will be limited on the ability to ferry people to the island.

~Ricegravy will have to be "beamed" to the island~

There are 5 designated camp sites on the island with a maximum of 10 people on each site. We will set-up the main congregating area on site #1.

I took my kids camping this weekend. I did this as a pre-Goat Island trip just to see if I could handle them in the hammocks w/o my wife. We had a GREAT trip. The girls did wonderfully. I will have to get each girl her own bug net. I tried using an ENO bug net for them with a 'bunk-bed' style set-up. with insulation the bottom hammocker got TOO HOT! I can't wait for the GI hang.

Already have plans, plus it's a bit far, but it sounds like it will be a wonderful trip. Nice of you to open it up to others, too. Pictures are mandatory in the trip report I am sure will be written.

Goat Island is a terrific place for a hang. I would bet ChickenWing's DIY setup that there will always be a hang in the planning stages there. Winter, Spring, SUMMER, Fall . . .

Thoughts of another Low Country Beaufort Frogmore Boil Stew seems appropriate as well !

That low beaufort frogmore country stew boil is definitely a must have. The peach cobbler and P-nuts are also worth a repeat. Din't someone mention oyster roast? hobo dinners would be good one night. Mmmmm....
    Can you tell I'm hungry?
I can't wait for this trip.

Yeah, forgot about that. . . Fulminated and I were talking about (I think it was he and I...) that, but DEFINITELY ! Maybe need to shoot for a good spring hang for the oyster roast. That'll give me a project to work on. . . creating a roasting grill for steamed oysters . . . MMMMMMM !

Yep, it were you and Fulminated.

You need a reason to have a project? I live for projects! just ask my wife. she my projects.

I saw something on Food Network? where a galvanized trash can was used to roast oysters. looked purty kewl

Sounds like were already planning a spring hang. Was this predicted somewhere?
