    greetings from western ma...

Hello everyone, my name is jim and i am a new hanger. A few months ago i bought an eno hammock to take along with me on day hikes I loved it. Recently i acquired a warbonnet blackbird hammock that i am using for the first time tonight. I am in it now as i type this message. So far i love it! I will see how tonight goes it is supposed to stay in the sixty's so keeping warm tonight should be easy. Well I just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for all the great info here. My next up is figuring out quilts in pads and what's best for me...

Well, the night went good... Got chilly a couple times but other than that super comfy.

I tried out my blue walmart pad this morning and it seems ok. Is a GG (or the like) pad much better or different? I picture it to be softer and more pliable. Also I used some junk guylines to get a feel for length, I think I am going to go with 5 feet and maybe carry a couple longer ones for an awning setup, I have the superfly, how does that sound for lengths?

My first set up attempt I used some tree that were maybe 20-25 feet apart and I just could not get things right, I quickly gave up and found some trees closer together... here are some pics of my set up last night...
