    Sacrilege??

Would it be sacrilege to remove the built in stuff sack pocket on my ENO? I have a slightly larger spinnaker stuff sack that will fit the hammock along with all the webbing. I could probably get the tarp in the same stuff sack as well. Put the tarp in last as that'd be the first thing put up.

Not at all. I removed mine long ago.

I use a Bishop's bag to hold the hammock, travelpod, and one side of the hammock suspension. The other side of the suspension just wraps around the bag.

You might consider this. Your webbing will get sap, dirt, etc. on it and your tarp could be wet from either rain or condensation. Might not be the best idea to put the hammock in with those. Whether you do or not, remember to always hang your hammock, tarp, when you get home to air dry. Snakeskins work well also.

If it's the weight or bulk that you want to get rid of, maybe you can just remove the webbing from the ENO stuff sack. I like using the sack to put stuff like my watch, knife, and guidebook pages (when on the AT) in. It's just one more place for extra storage while in camp that only weighs about an ounce. Plus you can still use it to put your hammock in. Since the compression straps really don't compress it very much you really aren't gonna miss them.

Yeah, I can just keep the ENO in its built-in stuff sack and put it at the bottom of the sack with the tarp, webbing, and all other hardware. Just trying to consolidate stuff here.

I have NO un-modified pieces of gear, except for my headlamp. So naturally I say: If you feel it needs to go, CUT IT OFF (Insert evil laugh here).

FYI: Modifying a piece of gear may void the warrenty, even something as small as cutting off the pocket on a hammock, but I'm OK with that.

You need to modify your headlamp.
