Does anyone know of a document or article where different sewing patterns were rated on strength? Maybe specifically with lightweight fabrics like we use.
Like the bartacs vs the box x vs continuous zigzags. What is the min length to get a certain strength?
I googled, but no decent results.

I've used 3 bartacks (speer recommendation) and boxed X's (2) as well as longitudinal stitching with a 3" overlap. None of these has ever failed me.
The biggest problem I've run into has been bottom tangles when trying to do bartacks on straps.

Thank you JS. That was what I was looking for. I am shocked on the first table where the box x has the lowest (but still very capable) breaking strength. I guess since they mention is always breaks at the threads, the box x has the least amount of threads.
