Its better to be prepared for something that may not happen then to be unprepared for something that does happen.
I grew up in Memphis then joined the Corps in 1975 and have wandered around the world ever since.
Hammock camping is great. I made one in the field a long time ago out of a canvas shelter half and some rope and wasn't impressed. But now- the stuff around today is a whole lot better!
