    Base camp tarp need advice

I will be camping with my son, and the scouts mostly. I would like to find a tarp large enough to fit both of our hammock underneath to give us a larger dry area. Will probably hang the two from three trees. Any input would be very welcome.
    Tight lines.

Etowah Silnylon tarp. 12x10 should do what you want. Most stores have 'em in the $95-$105 range. Expensive, but soooo lightweight!

I'm not sure on the size my be 16'x12'. I would like something that I could pack a short distance. Both of our hammocks have sufficient tarps to start with. Last weekend we .found a spot with four trees. Our two tarps where just short of overlapping I think if we hung off just three it might have made it..

crankybear and I usually hang from 3 trees and we overlap at one end at least. I have an HH sil Hex tarp. I don't know the weight or price (sorry i know it isn't helpful) but my tarp is huge. It usually covers my hammock, the dog's big metal crate and part of crankybears tarp and i still have room to spare.
    just something to look at.
so i have added a few pictures. One is of my tarp set up, one is of our last camping trip---this shows the usual set up for crankybear and I (mind you we were missing a 3rd tree so he is actually tied off to the top of his truck) and one is just more my side of our little taj ma tarp, we got rained on a lot, but i stayed nice and dry the whole time. sorry 2nd picture is of my HH Scout and 3rd picture is crankybear's HH something...lol it's big and i swiped it partway through the week.

On a budget? If you're not packing it too far, the Gorilla Tarp is still functional after considerable use (camping, covering firewood, protecting tomato plants from frost, etc.) It's something your scouts could make in an hour or two.

I like the shape of the Kelty Noaha 16, but its big, and heavy. The Estowa's largest is 10x12. It may be big enough? What do you think of this. I know its heavey to. Is there anything at least 12x14, and lite? Thanks for all the ideas.

Need a "big" lightweight tarp? One supplier often overlooked is Cooke Custom Sewing. They make stock sizes from 8'x10' to 15'x15'...all in two different weights of silnylon fabric.
