From what i can tell Mt. Rogers looks like it is about 5 hours from my home which is an okay distance IF that is the location.
I'll let this thread set out there a couple more days and see what everyone else's opinions are, but it looks like Mt Rogers is the place everyone wants.

Ewker, I'm sure we could hook you up with a cold-weather hammock if you do decide to come. If it's a short hike you could bring your ground stuff too - just in case.
