    My first Top Quilt

So, I decided to attempt this since I do know how to use the thread injector. This is from $1.50 yard material from Wally World and No see um netting from a local Great Outdoor Provision store and 14oz of down from Thru-Hiker. I must say sewing those channels was a challenge but not near the challenge of filling them. This quilt would have been fairly on the cheap side if I had not blown up my Rainbow Vacuum Cleaner using it to fill those channels. It was a fun project and after the feathers all land and been vacuumed I may attemp an Under Quilt.

    Blown up Rainbow

I sold Rainbows some 25 years ago (wait a minute, that as back in 1985 and that would make me...) Disregard that time reference. Anyway, funny story about my first sale. I had previously gone to a house with all new carpets, but ever since, the Rainbow just wasn't working right. I took a broom handle and pushed out 4' of carpet knap from the hose (from the new carpet days before). After that the sale was easy. I have already had the thought of how I could fill a vacuum hose with down and push it out into baffles!

Looks great on the TQ. Keep up the good work.

Great looking TQ, should keep you mighty warm!
Which fill did you use, 800 or 900? Just curious!!!

I found the receipt for the Rainbow, it came with a 20 year trade in certificate for 375.00The Receipt is dated January 8, 1986. I couldn't believe it was that old either. Which dates me a little too.

Yup! $375 trade in certificate seems to be ringing bells from my old pitch. I am trying to imagine how you acutally used the Rainbow to fill your baffles...
