    JoAnn's for straps

When I was in JoAnn's last weekend looking at thread, I saw webbing there also. I can't recall the price/yd. Is this a good source if I need some? I did see it was polyprop. What should I expect to pay a yd for 1"?

I do not recommend Joannes or any clothing/craft fabric store for suspension webbing. Webbing comes in various weights and breakage strengths. IMO the webbing in clothing fabric stores is intended for tote bag handles and such. I have had it break on me when used for suspension purposes. Spring for the good stuff at Strapworks or one of the other fine member vendors who market specifically to the outdoor/hammock crowd.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Which straps at Strapworks are appropriate for tree huggers and the like?

Anything at Strapworks good for edging a tarp?

Actually, I am hoping to pick up some strap material from JoAnn's today, but it won't be used for tree straps or hammock suspension. I will be using it for loops on my new UQ. I appreciate the advice that this is not heavily weight loaded, but it should be fine for that application.

For future projects when I can plan in advance, I will use Strapworks.

I did go to Harbor Freight (HF--not to be confused with the HF) two weeks ago. That yellow stuff is what I have set up for my tree straps on my suspension. Great light webbing!

I've tried a couple of the Joann's straps for hanging. I haven't had any fail but they've all stretched like crazy. It's cheaper to get them from Arrowhead with the loops already sewn in them.

i think backwoods daydreamer is offering traps as well. the harbor freight are mighty strong but the yellow isn't pleasing to the eye.
