    NX-250 first hang

WOW, I just took my first hang this week with my new hammock, a CJH NX250. First hang ever, and man am I a new convert. Probably wont ever go to ground again.

Was at the dolly sods this weekend on the bear rocks trail, at the campsite next to the creek.

I am 6'5, 420#s. Although after the 10 + mile hike on wednesday, I am probably down to 405#s.

Anyway, really enjoyed the sleep i got in the hammock. I lined the bottom with my big agnes insulated air core pad, and a big agnes 15 degree doown bag as a top quilt. Next time, I will probably add a poncho liner as added warmth for colder temps, but it got down to only 47 degrees, so I was fine. What I liked the best was I stayed perfectly dry through a monster rain storm that lasted all night and all morning. I did get soaked on the 2 mile hike back to the jeep, but while i was in the CJH, I was snug as a bug in a rug. My buddies even nicknamed me/it as Tom's taco. I said I felt more like a burrito, but nicknames are guven, not chosen.

anyway, long story short, even though i technically exceed the weight limis on the CJH, I don't care, it was the best sleep i have had on a camping trip ever.

Still getting used to getting the leverage to pull myself out of the hammock to get up, but i can do it.

Fat, happy, and a converted new hanger,

    Big Papi

I knew you would rave about it . . .

You are 1/4 on from the recommended to the max
so I think you are OK.

And you really like your NX250
so I think you are OK.

rain hitting tarp didn't bother me a bit, I find it soothing. As long as I am dry, anyway.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your CJH!

I too have a NX-250, and it certainly seems to be the "BarcoLounger of Hammocks". I am pushing 300#, and I find it to be spacious and comfy.

That exit move is an acquired skill. Doing sit-ups aids in the move!
