New convert thanks to Shug and this forum

As a life long bushman I have always enjoyed the outdoors and camping. However my back has been giving me trouble when laying on the ground and I have not been camping for a few years now due to it. I finally had the idea a hammock might work but was unsure.

Since I happened to be surfing some youtube video I did a search for hammock camping and came across Shugs channel. After staying up till almost midnight being entertained and learning all at the same time I grabbed an old sheet and gathered the ends and did a quick tie off. Setup on the front porch with that and a sleeping bag with a low temp of 40 I was still uncertain it would work out. I thought again about how much Fun Shug seemed to be having and this forum what I had read and fell back into the best sleep I've ever had outdoors.

Even with my sheet being a good 2 feet too short I slept like a baby. So I spent most of Saturday and today researching the forum and watching many videos. Tomorrow I'll be picking up some ripstop and making a good hammock and hope to be out the entire weekend next week once again in the woods I so dearly love with a hammock. Thanks to all of you here and Shug. I look forward to learning more and chatting with you all. Woooo Buddy

Shug is a one of a kind, and a truly great guy. I feel glad to have met him at the Northern Hang last year.
