    Hello from Cincinnati, OH

    Hello everyone!

I'm a hammock neophyte hailing from Cincinnati, OH. I recently purchased a Hennessy Explorer Deluxe and will be taking it out for the first time in a couple of weeks to Cumberland Gap National Park.

The amount of great information on this forum is both exciting and overwhelming... I look forward to learning as much as I can and becoming a part of the community!

Welcome to HF and don't let the information overload you. The best thing to do is watch the videos from Shug and Grizz, Shug Emery and Professor Hammock on Youtube, to get brought up to speed on most things hammock related. They are a great set of videos not only for the information but also the entertainment value as well. One other thing..........just like getting to Carneghe Hall (sp?), hanging your hammock takes practice, practice practice!!!!!!!

Yeah, I just finished watching Shug's entire series last night. It was fantastic and cleared up a lot of the questions I was having. I'll check out the Professor Hammock videos next

    Thanks!

Welcome aboard. Surviving the drought OK?

There is a group hangout in nearby RRG the weekend after Thanksgiving, I'm only going down Sat & Sun but you are welcome to ride along. Leaving Sat AM around 0100* for a night time hike in to the campsite.

*I work till around midnight Friday.

http://www.metroparks.org/GetOutside...spx?id=2010tvt a link to the website. I would need a list of all vehicle tags that would be left in the lot. I'll apply for the permit if we have enough interest.

Welcome to HF. I would echo Bigbamaguy's advice to practice, practice, practice. You don't want to wait till your big trip. To find out that your equipment or rigging technique has unforeseen problems. Better to find them at home and work trough them before your trip.
