Tarp advice Blackbird for Bushcraft

Hey guys and girls,

My blackbird arrived last week and my first weekend of camping in it worked great!

I have a DD hammock 3x3 meters which weight is about 680 grams.

I am seeing all different kinda tarps on this forum and what i really like is there light weight. Now i am looking for a lightweight tarp that is good for bushcraft and the WBBB hammock. My DD tarp is to big to hang it diamond wise.

Does someone had any tips for me. My budget is around $120 and it has to been shipped international (Holland).

I have a Warbonnet Superfly. I got the big tarp for more coverage but he also has smaller ones.

I am now adjusting my budget upwards and the MacCat Deluxe and Big mamaba are 2 great tarps.
I am even cosidering in buying a SpinnUL version. Because if i digg the forums the are better then SilN.

My only doubt is that SpinnUL is only available in the color Grey.
In Europe your aren't allowed to camp freely in the woods these days.
That rule is mainly to protect the woods from large groups that destroy and pollute etc.
We as bushcrafters respect the Woods and have a Leave no Trace rule.

So our nature camping over here has to be a little stealthy.
Is Grey in SpinnUL the best way for me ore If is a SilNylon better with like a green brown color.

SpinnUL a better quality product but less stealthy
SilNL a less better product but more Stealthy.

Which one should i choose.

If stealth is important, remember that Spinn is much louder than Sil in wind and rain.
And really, I wouldn't say that Spinn is "better quality", it's just a lot lighter than Sil.

SilNylon: Costs less money, more color choices, quieter.
Spinn: Weighs less.

Have you watched Shug's recent video? He compares the Spinn and Sil tarps as far as noise...

I agree with sir nOthing for the most part. But, I do think Spinn has better characteristics for me, than sil. Including the lightweight factor.

Since it doesn't stretch like sil does, once up it stays tight. This negates the flapping tarp issues that arise with sil and wind.
Also, when it's raining, you can brush your back against the inside of a Spinn tarp and not get your shirt wet. Huge plus in my book.
Sil does have the big advantage of color variety!
Sil is also lots cheaper.

I've got both types of tarps and don't have any issues with either material. I do like the Spinn a bit better, but my wallet likes the price of sil. Both are excellent materials.

i have never compared the sizes but alot of bushcrafters on your side of the pond like to use the camo hootchies with their hammocks but then again most of them aren't using Blackbirds-might be worth investigating

I think its gonna be a SilNylon tarp.

Ya most of the Hammock user here have a DD hammock with Camo Hootchie.
But the weight 800 grams ore so. And not designed for a Hammock.
