You also put the Nest outside the supershelter b/c the SS will compress it.
I use the Exped downmat sometimes - always in below freezing weather and usually when one of the kids comes along. It's pretty comfortable but I'd rather sleep right on the hammock...which is why I made the downhammock.

IMPOSSIBLE JUST TAKES LONGER
I use a BA insulated mat partially aired. I also carry a 3/8in Gossamer Gear pad cut to my height. I need both at 40 with a good breeze, but my McCat tarp probably makes the biggest difference in a wind...pulled down to the ground. I have plans to make an underquilt this winter to try that out.
Just Jeff,
Wow! I have actually spent quite a lot of time reading some of your excellent stuff on your site and have it bookmarked...amazing! I thing the downhammock is terrific. Maybe I will make something this winter. Mule
EWEWALL, Thanks for the tips too. I have an 8 x 10 tarp I am also bringing to use if windy. Is the McCat Tarp larger or different? I will google it to find out. Mule

How much water are you all going to hawl in? Will there be a water source?
