Having seen Hotlips' tarp up close, I can attest that it is bright. At a group hang I thought it was the sun coming early in the morning.

Wow, I love it. I was admiring your hammock when I was looking through Papa Smurfs work.

This thread is 7 years old and here we are carrying on the conversation on how to be obvious when it might be wise to not practice stealth Hanging.

I am sure the vast majority of hunters are practicing safe hunting. I feel with the laws against drunk driving, plus the addition of a gazillion rules on hunting, there are fewer fruit cakes with guns in their hands, however, when people are firing off guns, I want to be sure I am obvious. I Hang with a large dog, that looks and sounds like a bear, I worry about legitimate hunters and especially poachers. I put a safety orange vest with lots of reflective tape on the dog and I have reflective stuff all over my hammock and tarp. I have been shot at in the past, not funny, I would not want that to happen again, I am obvious when people are in the bush hunting, call me chicken.

I have a white tarp, I think maybe I want a blaze orange tarp, I really like the zing.
