Have you priced a subie recently? You have to be making some good money to afford the nicer ones now. But yeah, what Cannibal said.

On a related but tangential note -- if you have 20 minutes to spare, you might find this TED talk interesting; think about hammocking as an "infection".
Edit: Here's a corollary talk.

more of a "Meme" I'd think- a new way of looking/experiencing things.
The focus of the talk was actually more on detecting and predicting the spread of <pick something> through a network. "Infection" was the main focus of the talk, but the principle seems to apply more generally - memes, fads, information, etc... The geographical question here reminded me of this particular talk. I can be weird like that.

mugs, are you on NASIOC or Edmunds? I no longer frequent either (I'm here instead). Not to hijack the thread but...
Any idea if/when SIA is bringing the diesel to the US?
Would it be based on the EJ25 or new FB25?
To keep this hammock related, I carry my Warbonnet Blackbird in a 00 Subaru Legacy GT wagon on the right coast.

I just read a thread in the long distance travel section of a guy that used a hammock on the PCT. I have also hiked with PCT through hikers who use hammocks. Most of the time when it is time to set up camp you are more then likely below the Alpine level. But I also have seen hammocks pitch out on rocks with an extreme ground angle below them and it worked fine.
Ya the Denver area is big on subies as well. Pretty much where there mountains and snow/winter sports you'll find subies. The guy who started the forum back in 98 (I believe) lives in Westminster Co.
Yes I price them all the time. Remember I do have my own quasi suby shop. They tend be a little more pricey here because of the car lots/people know they can get the money out of them. To find a rust free one on the east coast will cost you small fortune. But at the same time I find them all day for pennies on the dollar. So it equals out.
No, NASIOC is for a bunch of teen age horney-moned induced narcissistic people who thrive on giving us all a bad name.
I belong to USMB A more friendly and realistic forum like this one here.
Supposedly in 2012 they already have had them in Europe for a couple of years now. Not sure on the block, but there is rumor they are working on a 300hp diesel to be released as well. And a 400hp turbo for the STI
Thanks I didn't know there were multiple pages.
Makes total sense.
I miss my 4.8Lb base weight as a ground dweller...But I sure DON'T MISS the ground.
Somebody should fix the map so that all users are displayed at once, not just one "page" at a time. Also, change the icons to small dots. Somebody might be able to work with something like www.gpsvisualizer.com to make a better member map.

Mod's note: Let's move it back on a topic closer to hammocks.
