Speer comfort?!? I only know HHs

Whats up y'all! I was thinking of making a "test hammock" to try out a speer type hammock....

However, I don't even have the rope and fabric yet and so I was wondering...I find my HH pretty comfortable...Is the speer type just as comfy? I know it has a little more shoulder squeeze but is that really much of a big deal?

I have found the speer type hammocks to actually be more comfortable than the HHs if only because I can sleep in either direction. With the HH there is only one way to sleep.

I do find it easier and more comfortable to get on my side and curl-up in an HH, but otherwise the Speer style hammocks are uber comfy on the diagonal.

Speer types are a very comfortable hammock, at least AS comfortable as a HH.

I have an HH Expidition Asym and I have made a Speer style hammock. Of the two I definitely prefer the Speer hammock. I like the open top and ease of entry/exit. I also like the options that the Speer hammock affords (PeaPod, Garlington Insulator, removable bugnet, and DIY (very addicting.)

My Speer and Hennessy are about equal in comfort. Not comfortable enough so I ordered a Bridge hammock. I'm a side/stomach sleeper and I find the trunk torque and fetal curl dont allow me to sleep that well on my side.

    I sold my HH today

    and I'll tell you why!

    We went camping.
First time I'd used the HH.
I spent forever getting it set up and trying to adjust the underquilt.
I couldn't do it alone -- needed someone to adjust it while I was inside.

    Finally got it set up.

    Went to bed.

Middle of the night is a storm.
    Rain is blowing in.

    AND I COULDN'T GET OUT!!!

    :::LMAO!!!:::

    It was a comedy!
    I kicked!
    I tried to sit up!
    I ripped at the bottom.
I could no more find that exit than anything.

I figured I was gonna die in there!

I started yellin and my partner came to my rescue.
After I calmed down, we laughed until I almost wet my pants.

I decided that was all the HH I needed.
I'm using the cash to order me a SPEER!
At least I can get out of the sucker!

Joe, on the other hand, is keeping his HH.
    He loves it.

So it just depends on the person.
