Okay! You asked for it. Who am I to argue? I found a couple minutes to edit some video and was able to post Part 1 of the hammock DIY project.

WARNING: these videos capture "my" process for moving through design and construction, so there is some changing of plan, etc. And, my way is not the highway. There are a lot of ways to do this stuff. This is just how I work.

I do hope you like it. More coming when I get back from camping!

That really is a nice, nice looking hammock, underquilt & tarp! DIY or not.
I really like the blue allot.
Hammock hanging season must be in the air. My 1st hang behind the house this weekend too.

Looking forward to your DIY video's on the different projects.

OOOO!!! I hope your first hang goes well! And thanks.

The first field test of my first hammock and first nights out sleeping in a hammock went well! Despite 2.16 inches of rain in one day and gale-force winds that scared me enough to almost give up and head for the truck, I stayed dry and warm! My UQ performed beyond my wildest expectations. The old tarp did not leak and held true against the strong, gusty winds.

Here's a pic from the morning after the first night. Pretty soggy! But, I was warm and dry. And there were raccoons the size of dogs! Whoa! Quite a different experience, being outside like that, but I'm definitely hooked.

More videos of the entire process coming this week, starting tomorrow night!! Stay tuned!!

Everything looks great - congrats! Having seen your earlier videos I noted you'd bought a sleeping bag, presumably to make an underquilt out of. Am I off base here? I'd like to know how that worked. Would love to see a video as well.

    Job well done! http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/i...es/biggrin.gif
