    whoppies for my daughter hammock?

    Hey opie and all ..
    my daughter has a HH scout . i really need to lighten it up .is whoopies a option? and how much could i expect to lose (weight)? what would be the best choice for lenght? and strap? thanks all?

    Jonesy, you can easily lose a few ounces by installing whoopie slings. Not exactly sure of your tree situation in central Kansas but I'd go with either 6 or 8' whoopie slings and probably 6' tree huggers. You have a lucky daughter there

    thanks for the help smoke.i think that route will be perfect.. so a 6ft whoopie will adjust to 12ft or close to it ..correct?

    Six foot would be the max.
    With two six footers on each end, and a 10 foot hammock (deduct some for hammock ridgeline, generally 10-13 inches), thats a 21 or 22 foot spread between trees. Add the length of strap, and it can be more depending on tree diameters.

    The HH whoopies do need to made differently, with a longer tail on the locked eye end.
