    New guy from Colorado.

Hello everybody. I have been hanging in my backyard for years. My wife spend many hours in the side by side hammocks we have set up on three trees in our yard. Well, one day I told my wife I was going to "invent" a hammock tent so I could enjoy backpacking again (bad back and added girth makes sleeping on the ground more like torture anymore). So I started looking for materials to make this "unprecedented" outdoor sleeping apparatus and lo and behold I found out, as I usually do, that I am roughly 100 years behind the curve.

Well, I ordered a used HH cheap off of Ebay ($80 shipped) and it should arrive today. I plan on going on a short 2 evening solo trek here in Western Colorado to try it out. If I like it as much as I think I am going to, I am planning on upgrading very soon as I am over the weight limit of the HH to begin with.

After doing a ton of research on the net, including a ton on this very site(wow! You guys know a lot about hammocks ) I plan on going with a WBBB. Also, its cool that their company is based in Colorado. Buy local!

Anyway, thats a little about me and how I came to you guys. Hope to share more and I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions.

    Thanks for reading
    Kris

Welcome, Kris! I'm new here, too, and also bought a HH. I got the Deluxe model specifically because I am over the size limits for the regular.

Welcome! Backyard hanging is great. But there is something extra special about hanging in the woods after a day on the trail. You're really going to like it.

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. Unfortunately my hammock did not come in the mail today and there was wicked wind and rain today so my trip got postponed. If it comes tomorrow, I may make it out for one night or just sleep in the hammock in my backyard.

Again thanks for the warm welcome.

Welcome from a neighbor to the south. Everything I know about hammock hanging I learned here and there are tons more to learn. Check out Shug's videos for newbies, and those from Grizz, Hawk-Eye and many others in the video section--they'll get you up to speed in no time.
