Thanks for sharing that, looks like a great spot for hanging.
I enjoyed the booming thunder in the background. Nuthin' like
hanging high and dry when weather comes through.

Number of things you said resonate with me. I carry a wood stove
for the evening meal---that's when I have time to futz around with
keeping the fire going, and I like doing it, gives me something to do.
But it is finicky, a little fire like that, gets too much on the small side
and you have to scramble. In the morning, I just want some hot water
so out comes the alcohol stove.

I'd like to make a DIY bush-buddy style stove...too many projects, too little
time. Looked like yours did exactly what wood gas burners are supposed to do. Congrats.

r.e. your comments on whether a pot with handles makes sense
on a wood stove...I've used an MSR Titan, I like the size of it, and
the handles can be helpful even if they've been being licked by the flame,
provided I have something to protect my hands when I grab them. Sometimes I'll carry a pair of gloves for that. Other times I just bring along an aluminum pot grabber.

What under-quilt did you have? Looked like it had at least an inch and a half of loft, so I was a little surprised at the report of CBS. Must have been compressing down there where it gets stressed most. Differential cut underquilts are the answer!

Did I mention that looked like a nice place to hang? And eagles. Dang.

Jim from the video you had the UQ up too high....you want the top of the UQ to go no higher they our neck....it probly couldn't get a good seal cause it was up high
other then that looks good...

First of thanks for watching and commenting was afraid for awhile I come across as a know it all or something since i had no comments I am still a noob learning as I go from Grizzly adams Greenlesspaul and shugs and many others videos . Reference the UQ Jarod I just laid back into the hammock to do the video I had the UQ lower but seeing I am laying on a diagonal lay so is probably the reason I am getting cold spots is my guess. But like I said still learning and loving every minute of it too. thanks for watching and commenting.

A wee "breakfast from the hammock" huh! The ultimate.

try sliding your UQ down more away from your head and that may help with the cbs.

Enjoyed the video. Brought back memories of a thunder boomer I went through in Linville Gorge. Nothin like the feeling you get when you are all snugged up under the tarp listening to the storm. I have been trying to build my own wood burner but can't seem to get it right. Nice to see yours is working good.
