So right, ScottyO! Without tinkering, our hobby would be...well, laying down! Good luck!

I with I had known that before I started cutting up my hammock...
I may still try letting out some whipping...That's the nice thing about this hammock stuff- its so condusive to tinkering!

The addition of a footbox doesn't require you to make any cuts to the hammock. At least not to a netless hammock.

This could possibly be the truest thing ever said on this forum.

"So right, ScottyO! Without tinkering, our hobby would be...well, laying down! Good luck!"

too funny! Maybe a little sad...but I think I'll embrace the lengths we go to just to lay down...

"The addition of a footbox doesn't require you to make any cuts to the hammock."

You say that, Knotty, because I didn't post any pics of the weird stuff I was trying to do. I thought I could essentially sew an elongated "sock" into the foot part of the hammock to allow me to lay flatter. Turns out that that seam takes an awful lot of pressure (hammock ripped at seam). Also, that seam acts like a vise and pinches closed on your legs, which isn't too comfortable...
So you are correct, unless you're trying to do something very weird...
