    Clark

Hello all. I just got back from a 3 day camping trip. Woodbadge for Boy Scouts. I spent two nights in my Clark hammock. Since the weather called for no rain I went without the fly. Wether dipped to around 36 degrees. I used my insulated air core mattress as my insulator and a 30 degree bag. my feet got a little cold. One thing I wish the Clark had was an inside pouch. another thing I found, for me, I am more comfortable with the head end of the hammock elevated a little. Neutral seemed to put my feet asleep. What is the general consensus on set-up. Also is there a mod for inside pockets. Thanks.

My CLark has inside pockets but you can also get one from REI that hangs from the loops inside or put a ridge line to hold them.

I find the pockets on my NX250 to be fine. I put a pee bottle one and wallet in the other. head torch I hang from the internal ridge line I added (taught line hitch makes it easy to tighten and loosen for differnt hangs).

I have my foot end a few inches higher than the head end and sleep asymetrically to get flat in the foetal position. Perfect nights sleep.

I like the look of that hanging bag but I know I'd just fill it with crap I don't really need.

    I have a NX-250

and felt the need for additional storage. The pocket over my left shoulder is just right for my glasses, the one over my righ is securewith velcro for my earplugs, and the ridgeline I added hangs my little LED area light and my headlamp. I will probably get a mesh pocket as well.

I hadn't noticed any inside pockets. I think I'll be setting it up tomorrow to do a search.
    Thanks for the imput.

    Lol!

I had a hard time finding the pockets as well! The left shoulder pocket has its opening toward the hammock end, and glasses stay in due to gravity.

Oh, yeah. In the head end is a web loop if you need to pull yourself towards that end. I didn't find it until the second time I used the hammock.

Whilst laying, the right pocket in my NX150 is velcroed and when M/T is hard to find,
the left has two openings one on top and one towards the head end of the hammock.

I have thought of; near the top of the head end of the hammock
putting a pocket that would span left to right,
to be kind of a catch all.

I would like also to add Velcro at strategic places
to hold my pillow in place as well as my Top Quilt
at the shoulder back side and foot end.
'cause when I sit in to lay,
everything flows to the middle where I am sitting.

I had trouble figuring out which end is the "Head"... Jsaults was right, the handle is the best way to figure it out. I also attached a small nylon bag to the handle for extra stuff that I don't need at night. The string on the bag is not too long, so it is still not touching my head when I am in the hammock. The pockets on the right and left are good for things you migh need at night.

    Bradley, you are a genius!

Well, at least at stimulating my mind.

I just got an idea for a "catch all" pocket for the CJH head end. Made from ripstop or netting, and stiffened with a section of weed whacker string to make it stay open. It would still compress when pakcked, yet be easy to load. I may have to do some sewing this weekend!
