FROST!!! I'm still trying to stay "cool" in my hammock, we were at 87 degrees yesterday!!! But the weatherman (this would be the same guy that says it's not gonna rain, and it does) says it's "supposed" to cool down a little bit for this weekend.

Enjoy your "cool" camping trip!! And post back how your quilts work out.

Me too! The last two nights here hit 23°.

Actually, I'm not really jealous...escaping the heat is one the reasons I left my Texas home of 30+ years. I've made good my escape.

On the other hand, 23° is about the limit on my bare-bones sleep system...

Smile No Frost on me but went to 35*

Did all I could to get colder I camped near the lake in the breeze. Pitched tarp to give great view not to break the wind and then waited for Jack, Jack Frost. He never made it that I could tell. I was as snug as a bug in a Shug Video. I was quite comfortable in my DIY UQ made from a synthetic sleeping bag $19.99 plus tax and a DIY TQ made from another bag, same type and price Wenzel Walden Ridge 30* stuffed with Insul-Therm. So I have $42.40 in Bags and 11.00 in Stuff to make them with and I could not be much happier with my feeble sewing skills. When I turned in at 11:00 it was 43* with a clear star filled night sky with a crescent moon and at 05:30 it was 35* next thing I knew it 08:30 and 39* sunny and picture perfect skies.

You lucky bugger. Love those pix of the colorful trees in the perfect autumn weather. (Why just bare ground and no plants in your understory, tho?) Argh, I miss having seasons....

Wonderful pictures. I'm wondering why you came back so soon. I'd have had a hard time leaving such a place.

I love to have stayed for a few more days but "someone" who was not feeling well and not able to go this week (wife) does, believe it or not after 28 years still misses having me home at night. You would think she have enough of me by now, silly girl.

Congrats on the successful cold weather DIY hang. Making it all work on the cheap is a great thing. Beautiful fall colors to boot.
