I'm similar but if it's cold and windy enough I just want to be warm.

I have the Bottom only version of this, meant to be used with the BBO. Together I feel they (a slightly different version of the one in the vid) take me up an easy 20 degrees. My hammock sock (Not insulated as the IX is) "Only" added 10 degrees. The insulation makes that much difference. Sorry I haven't weighed the two together on a scale, but they feel similar, & the sock was (is) 17 Oz.

If you winter camp at all, this is required gear.
I plan on using it alone as my UQ come summer as it does me good down to 60 easily!
A normal person should be able to get to 70 with just this. If you sleep cold,,, add a fleece UQ.

Doctari, yours is the same sock, without the top. The seams are not felled, but it is cut from the same pattern, sans top.

I call it the "IX Hammock Sock without SEEP", aka the strangest UQ ever made! (If you have a hammock, and wish you had an insulated hammock, you need one!) If you want a top, you use a BBO.

I've had my MollyMac Sock with SEEP and IX (which I affectionately refer to as the MacSack) for several weeks now and I've had the opportunity to test it down to as low as 8 degrees. The sock does a great job of both blocking the wind and trapping heat. The temperature inside of the sock was consistently 20 degrees warmer than the outside ambient temperature, as measured by my $3.00 garden variety thermometer.

NOTE: When I first saw the sock demonstration video, I thought I might feel a bit claustrophobic once cocooned inside. But, the sock material is light enough to allow good light penetration and the ability to somewhat see though the material. So you don't feel "shut off" from the world around when you are buttoned down in the sock. Additionally, the fact that the SEEP requires a simply flip of the wrist to exit the sock, makes egress very simple and efficient.

A great product that I highly recommend!
