Hammock Ridgeline Innovations?

I used to hang more things from it, now that I have a blackbird with a shelf I don't hang much. I'm going to have to look into rigging up a holder for my phone. I like that idea.

Here's a pic with my string lights on it. My daughter loved writing in her journal before falling asleep with these on.

They really light up an area and it makes setting up camp or cooking a meal in the dark super easy.

I designed a mesh bag that I placed a grommet in each corner, then strung my RL through so that it slides one direction (towards my head) becuase I got tired of it sliding down into the middle of my RL when I put things into it and knocking my head on it getting in/out of the hammock. Sorry, don't have any pictures of it

Not innovative or UL approved...but I hang my Snow Peak Hozuki LED light from my SRL. I like it because it gives me a wide range of lighting options. I especially like the low-candle setting. It flickers as the wind blows. It even goes out if "blown" to hard, but comes back on a minute later. Nice ambiance. The light is nice an bright when needed, but not in that annoying fluorescent way that is typical of LEDs.

It really excels out from under the tarp. I hang in on a branch and use it to light up my area while cooking or to be able to read while NOT in my hammock. It's crushable, so it packs down nice and small inside of my pack. The comfort I get from it is well worth the small amount of weight it adds to my pack.

When loafing in my hammock during the day, I like to read. And the geometry of my bifocals and the hammock demand that I read without my glasses on. So I fold my glasses up and hang them on the ridgeline by one earpiece.
I've also hung the wireless house phone on the line (has a belt clip on it for some reason) so I don't have to get up to answer the phone.

My stuff sack has a mini-carabiner hooked to it, I hang it on my ridgeline. Glasses, book, water bottle and other stuff go in...

It's not hung by the cord, but on the opposite side, I just melted a hole about an inch down and clip a HF 'biner to it!

be carefull hanging glasses from your ridge line.a couple weeks ago i had mine hung there.when i awoke,during my brief thrash around get uncovered and up period,i accidently 'plucked' the ridge line.my glasses flew off in i could not tell what direction.(ridgeline a lot like bowstring)even though i had to urgently get up i could not for fear of stepping on my glasses.they blended in well with the couple inches of fresh fallen leaves around me.luckily it only took a few minutes of squinting down from my hammock to find them.

Here's my take on the poor man's headlamp/flashlight/ridgeline lamp. Sorry there's no picture of it "in action," but it hangs on my desklamp just as well as a ridgeline...

Mesh organizer is on the list of things to make. I think I should attach it semi-permanently with prusik knots.

Excellent usw of a PT LED light. I am using the same, but attached via a mitten hook. Bright little sucker.
