Hello from NC. I am new to the hammock world as well as the online forum stuff. I joined about a month or two ago and have been doing a lot of reading of others posts. I got interested in hammocks after trying a friends ENO double nest on a overnight trip and knew that I had to have a hammock from here on out. While reading about all the different types of hammocks I found a member named Hogg Tyed that lives near me. I contacted him after reading that he owned two of the types of hammocks I was looking at. To my surprise he was more than happy to have me over, show me his gear and allow me to try out both his Blackbird TripleLayer1.7 and his Switchback Triple Layer. After a half dozen back and forth’s between the hamocks Monday night I decided the Blackbird is the one for me. The foot box is awesome for a guy 602 tall. So I came home and ordered one with the adjustable buckle suspension system. I believe the man’s name is Brandon that I spoke with over e-mail and who helped me set up my order with the extra layer sewn in. I can’t wait to get it and start hanging. Hopefully I will meet some of you on the trail or at a hang.
Now I need to get a tarp and all the other accessories. I guess it’s going to be like all my other hobbies; I may end up needing a little storage building to keep all my new toys. I can’t wait.
