    Condensation

I'm a bit confused by this and am hoping someone can assist? I keep reading about condensation issues with UQ's and seeing other talk about using a vapour barrier, and an UQ protector.

So my question is this - where is the condensation coming from? and if you use a VB below the hammock, surely that's going to possibly lead to a wet backside due to the fact that the vapour can't really go anywhere? Is this even an issue in damp weather or is it just cold and dry weather? And where is the vapour coming from anyway?!

Can someone please explain this comprehensively? Cheers

edited to add that I've never experienced this using an NX250 with Z-liner

The only UQ related condensation I know of is with the HH Super Shelter. This is mostly because it is not breathable, due to the "waterprrof" sil-nylon UC. When that outer shell, several inches from your back, gets cold enough, your body moisture ( insensible perspiration) will travel to the cold shell and condense.

The space blanket will ( or should) prevent this: the body moisture can not get through the SB or vapor barrier. Because the SB is close to your bod, it will be warm and water vapor will not condense against it, at least it doesn't with me.

Of course, if you get warm enough to sweat, that will be trapped against the SB/VB and might get you wet. Then again, if you get hot enough to sweat, that is not going to do any down UQ any good either.
