    Hanging High.

I was once camping with a buddy in his Eno setup and the only useable trees besides the ones my Warbonnet was already attached to were a LONG way apart. He has no ridgeline and is therefore dependant on that 30 degree angle to ensure a consistant lay. The point: standing on someones shoulders allows you to get that ol' strap quite high in a tree. Being as this hiker was alone, I vote for hammock magic.

The assumption that he was alone may be misguided. He is right nest to an RV pad. I know some of the folks who go with family will hang their hammock next to the RV. If this was the case the owner could be out sightseeing/shopping and a ladder might very well have been available.

    Maybe it's a snare trap.
Who could resist that kind of bait?

Yea, I nearly went Goldilocks on that thing! That is a parking pad by it, so I suspect that (s)he drove off for some grub. I did note one split log on the picnic table close by so maybe they needed some wood. Either way, It looks nice to me!

This is one of the funniest threads I've read in a LOOOONG time. Great post, tim<howeveryouspelltherestofyourname>!!

I have some family in NE, but none of them hang. Therefore, I feel pretty confident assessing that this hammock belongs to no one I've met.

Cannibal has me convinced. This individual is definitely one of us, and the Pandora part of me winces with each day that passes and leaves the question unanswered. MYSTERY HANGER REVEAL YOURSELF!!! There, that ought to do it.

timabababaluka--I'm pretty sure it's Irish... or maybe Ugandan (surely it must be one of the two).

@ Just Jeff--you're a moderator, right? Is it possible to suspend the memberships of all NE hangers until their whereabouts can be accounted for? Just curious

    It's mine. Seriously.

I was using Dutch clips and I used the hiking poles to push the straps up a bit too high. I set it up in the dark and thought the spread was wider than it was.

It was too nice not to camp out this weekend. I was perfect sleeping weather.

It's a WBBB 1.7 double with a Leigh UQ and a Hennessy rainfly.

Wait a second. You took the photo on Saturday. The DIY is my summer UQ and I got a bit too cold. I changed out my DIY UQ for the Leigh Saturday night.

The straps weren't really that high up. The Dutch clips were upside down? Oops. I've been using them like that all summer. I flip 'em over.

Thanks for the comments everyone. It was a nice surprise.

Now you have gone and spoiled all the fun by revealing yourself. I was waiting on someone to suspect that it was a Bigfoot since the hang was so high....
